Walden It Up

We celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary where we got married near our hometown. Geoff went off the diving tower and the swing. On the platform, he stood among the adolescents and said, "Make way for the old man," referring for the first time, to himself.

We knew we wanted to honor our nine intense years by taking to the woods. In many ways,it was like being back at Thoreau's swimming hole in Boston. A still, cool pond encircled by trees. We laid on the dock. We frolicked. We made a great list. We had lemonade and salt and vinegar chips. All my criteria for a perfect summer day.
