Okay, everyone.
This is it. Here' s the last of the photobooth pics. Our baby man is
one year -old and I don't think we could be prouder. He is babbling like a
madman with interrogative intonations and everything. He says "ball" and
"kitty" but his favorite word seems to be "otegah," whose meaning still
eludes us. (If anyone has any ideas, please let us know.) On those hot
days last week, Manny had what we call "office hours," I put a big bowl of
cut fruit in the fridge, on the lowest shelf. He opens the door and stands
there, eating the fruit, juice running off his elbows. He is very serious
about this and if you need to get into the fridge for any reason, well, you
simply have to wait.
We had a bash of a party on the Fourth. Lots of friends to kiss and
celebrate with. G's parents and sis and exchange student outdid themselves
helping us. My bro Mikey was the Grill Master Chef. My two neices, Adri
and Elli were the onsite kid-experts for the party prep (If you put
chocolates in the pinata, they'll melt. Kids have to line up smallest to
tallest, you don't wanna get in the whole "when's your bday' thing. They
probably don't know, and other such info). And ,of course, all our guests
brought delicious things too.
The party was a symbol for us, clearly this is not done alone. We are all
hanging on by threads of grace and mercy. This past year has been God
showing off all that mercy and love to us. And much of it, has been through
the likes of y'all.
Thanks again for an unforgettable year. Stay posted for the next Beatty
child.
